A beautiful reproduction of a 200+ year old antique that I purchased last summer; though aged and incredibly frail, I fell in love with the verse (and the birds). It is a reminder to never cease to seek opportunities to learn and grow!

When I was young I little thought, That learning was so dearly bought, But now I by experience find, Tis not gained by an idle mind.

Unfortunately, there is not much information about Alice Robinson. I do know that she lived in Kansas and experienced poverty. Eventually, she became a teacher.
